The CIA Executive would like to invite you to participate in our Executive teleconferences. The next teleconference is scheduled for 8 December 1999 at 2000 hours (Ontario time). The Director of Infantry is an important member and your participation is valued.
The Executive also asked me to convey they’re thanks to you for your very positive report on the CIA AGM in your 01 November letter regarding "Infantry Matters". Your reference to Lieutenant General Leach and his commitment to seeing an increase in the level of commanding officer participation was appreciated and very timely.
With regards to the preliminary details for AGM 2000 in Winnipeg next September, the dates, as you pointed out in your letter, are 23 to 25 September 2000. We propose to intertwine the AGM and Bayonet activities like we did in Barrie but the preponderance of Bayonet activities will be scheduled to commence after lunch on 23 September and conclude at noon on 24 September although. Membership feedback received from the critiques indicated that eliminating the two solitudes approach was seen as a unifying factor appreciated by the participants. Also as a result of feedback received from the critiques, we propose to increase the time allotted for the COs Bull Session. The Executive asked that I discuss these points with you and determine if there are any points you want to include on the Winnipeg agenda.
